Mr Alan BAXTER

Alan Baxter

For 20 years Alan Baxter served as an officer in the British Royal Marines, of which six years as training director.

He then followed a varied business career in London and Portugal, ending up as CEO of an Engineering company. This has given him vast experience in management, sales, marketing, finance, investment, I.T, and Professional training.

Alan Baxter has degrees from England and France, and has lived in France since 1997.

He has been director of Immersion in Anjou since its creation in 2003.

Mrs Maggie RICE

Maggie RICE: educational manager.

  • Bachelor of Education. Exeter University. Educational Psychology
  • Internationally qualified EFL and ESOL teacher. All ages.
  • Extensive business experience in the UK, South Africa and France.
  • Marketing Manager in the stationary industry in Southampton.
  • Public Relations Manager for a leading diamond merchant in Cape Town.


Guy BEVAN: MA French Literature at University of Angers, BA French Literature at UCO Angers, specialising in Modern Languages (general and intercultural English, business English).


 Kimberly LECOINTRE: American English as a native language. Honors graduate with a Bachelor of Arts (major in French literature, language, and linguistics, and a minor in Food Politics) from the University of Texas at Austin. Commercial and contract translator (French to English) for small French companies in the organic industry that conduct business with anglophone markets. Anglophone-targeted export developer for a family-owned, organic vineyard domain.


 Carole YOUNG: EFL Teaching Certificate, 35 years’ experience teaching English (English for beginners and communication).


 Hervé DENIS: BA in English at Poitiers University, BA Honours 1st Class in Russian and European Studies at University of Wolverhampton (general English, import/export business English).


 Allison LE BAS: 20 years’ experience in sales, purchasing, administration and logistics plus 5 years in English teaching (general English and English for international commerce).
